Low Sugar Slow Cooker Cinnamon Apples

Delicious, low in sugar baked apples made in the slow cooker.

Ingredients

  • 6 Gala or other sweet red apples ,peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 2 cups apple juice
  • ¼ cup packed light brown sugar ,plus additional for sprinking
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg

Instructions

  • Place sliced apples in a slow cooker. In a bowl whisk together apple juice, brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, and nutmeg; pour over the apples.
  • Set the slow cooker to HIGH and cook for two hours, or until the apples are soft. Serve in dessert bowls sprinkled with additional brown sugar, if desired.
